What is My Everyday Journal?

My Everyday Journal is a simple food tracking app designed for people following structured diet programs. It focuses on the metrics that matter most: protein, water, vegetables, and servings.

Who is this app for?

This app is designed for anyone following a structured diet program that focuses on specific nutritional goals rather than calorie counting.

How is this different from other food tracking apps?

Unlike general calorie-counting apps, My Everyday Journal is streamlined for structured programs. It tracks protein (in kcal), water, vegetables/fruits, fats, and other servings—not complex macro percentages or extensive nutrition databases you'll never use.

Does it work offline?

Yes! All your data is stored locally on your device. You don't need an internet connection to log entries or view your history.

Features & Usage

What can I track?

You can track:

  • Protein (in kcal)
  • Water (in oz or ml)
  • Vegetables/Fruits (servings)
  • Fats (servings)
  • Miscellaneous servings
  • Additional servings
  • Meal times and labels

Can I add my own foods?

Absolutely! The app comes with 285+ pre-loaded foods, but you can easily add your own custom items with the nutritional values that matter to your program.

How do I set my daily goals?

Go to Settings → Daily Goals to set minimum and maximum targets for each category. The app will show you visual progress bars throughout the day to keep you on track.

Can I share my progress with my health care provider?

Yes! The Weekly Summary screen has a "Share PDF" button that generates a printable report of your week. You can email it or print it for appointments.

What are Quick Entries vs. Saved Items?

Quick Entries let you log food with simple fields—fastest for one-off meals. Saved Items are foods you add to your personal library for one-tap logging of things you eat frequently.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device. We don't have servers, we don't collect your data, and we don't require an account.

Can I export my data?

Yes! Go to Settings → Data Management → Export Data. This creates a JSON backup file you can save to your device or cloud storage.

What if I get a new phone?

Export your data from your old phone, then import it on your new phone using Settings → Data Management → Import Data. Your entire journal history, custom items, and settings will transfer over.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't collect your data, so there's nothing to sell. Your food journal is yours alone.
